VINTAGE & REPRO CLOTHING FOR SALE

Rare mid-1920s Aquascutum 'Eiderscutum' overcoat in medium-heavy checked blue/grey wool.

Coat has detachable belt (buttons on at the sides), rear vent with button, detachable throat latch which buttons inside the coat when not in use, patch flapped pockets with velvet lining, mock turn-back cuffs.

As well as the Aquascutum labels, it has the label of the shop where the coat was originally stocked, inside the inner pocket (Fox, Blackpool).

The coat has no shoulder padding which gives it the earlier 1920s smaller / narrower shouldered look (unlike coats of the 1930s-50s which usually have an extended and well padded shoulder).

The sleeves have been let down to their max, with inner lining extensions (well done). They cannot be let down any further.

Overall very good sturdy condition, with one moth hole to lower front, a few surface moth chews which don't go all the way through. Two small moth chews to back rear collar edge. All moth chews are very difficult to see due to the heavy fuzzy fabric. Leather buckle has light wear. All buttons are present.

Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 18"
Pit to Pit: 23"
Outer sleeve: 25"
Back Length (from base of collar): 46.5"
